What Is Homeopathy

Homeopathy is referred to as a system of medicine that includes the treatment of an individual using highly diluted substances. Homeopathy is mainly administered in tablet form with an object of triggering the natural system of the healing process of the body. This is also known as homeopathic medicine. At present, there are around three thousand substances that are used as homeopathic remedies in the treatment of a variety of ailments, including colds, cough, arthritis, and even cancer.

The development of homeopathy took place in the late 18th century by Samuel Hahnemann, a renowned doctor in Germany. According to the doctor, ‘like cures like’ and small concentrations of a specific toxin could cure the same symptoms it would cause in bigger doses. The doctor had a firm belief that the underlying cause of most of the diseases is nothing but phenomena and something that could easily be addressed and used by the way of simple homeopathic remedies.

The idea of homeopathy is based on three different principles:

  1. Likes Cures Likes:
This science of medicine helps to determine that a substance producing a particular set of symptoms in a healthy person would be able to cure a sick person who is experiencing the same kind of symptoms.
  2. Individualized Medicines:
Practitioners choose medicines as per the total picture of the patient. This includes not only the physical symptoms that a patient is suffering from but other factors as well such as the lifestyle of a person, his emotional and mental state, and various other factors.
  3. Minimum Dosage:
Unlike all kinds of conventional medicine, homeopathic medicine is considered to be more effective when the active ingredient present in it is diluted and succussed.

The method practiced by the homeopaths in treating any ailment is considered to be similar to the methods adopted by the therapists or counselors. Homeopaths tend to spend time with the patients in an uncluttered room where they discuss all their issues at length. Homeopaths help to put the patient at ease by the way of rooting out the underlying causes of their illness.

Levels Of Homeopathic Therapy:

Level 1: First Aid:
The use of homeopathy can be carried out in first aid in bruises and sprains, minor burns and cuts, and skin irritations.
